Asian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA) is a peak representative organization for medical students from across Asia, the Asia-Pacific and beyond. Training doctors from 14 members and 10 associate/observer members combine to share knowledge, undertake activities and social services and create international and trans-continental friendships. AMSA was officially founded in Manila, Philippines in 1985 and from this day has been an active, dynamic and exciting student-led, not-for-profit, non-political organization.

As a part of AMSA International, AMSA-Indonesia, is the peak representative body for medical students in Indonesia. Founded in Yogyakarta, August 10th 1996. AMSA-Indonesia is scientific, nonpolitical, nonprofit, open, and independent organization.

AMSA-Unhas itself was founded in 2002 by three founders: dr.Yose, dr.Akhtar, and dr.Dimas. The observers just needed 6 months to accept AMSA Unhas as member of AMSA Indonesia.

AMSA Unhas has been developing very quick. In 2004, our members were accepted as a board in AMSA Indonesia and in 2005, as a board in AMSA International. And we always commemorate AMSA-UNHAS' Anniversary every September 22nd.

AMSA-Indonesia and AMSA-Unhas has been actively participating in plethora of national and international events.
