For the past three decades, Indonesia has made significant progress in economic and human development, which has resulted in better health conditions and longer life expectancy, creating a growing population of older people. But this just lead the elderly to particularly vulnerable as they have less access to education, lower earnings, and are subject to discrimination and exclusion from decision-making processes within households and communities. On reacting to this, AMSA-Unhas proudly presents Care for Elderly I, that was held at Panti Werdha Theodora on November 27th 2017.
Another well spent weekend with AMSA-Unhas big family. We did various activities with grandmothers who reside there. We did simple health check-up, played games and sang a song for them. A very informative sharing session from dr.Raissa Alfaathir Heri was also the highlight of this event. It was very heartwarming to see the excitement coming from youth to share wonderful moments with the elderly. Keep up the spirit and see you guys on Care for Elderly part 2!
